Charles, or Chuck, as most people call him, was born in Canton, China and baptized at age 12 in Hong Kong. He immigrated to New York City with his family when he was 15 and started attending Oversea Chinese Mission as a teen. After he graduated from Cooper Union in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree in physics, Chuck furthered his studies at Columbia University where he earned a Master of Science degree in Engineering Mechanics in 1971 and a Professional Degree in Civil Engineering in 1972. During his 40+ years in the professional field, Chuck worked in both public and private sectors, engaging in the design and construction of various types of buildings, industrial plants and municipal facilities. As his faith in Christ matured, Chuck developed a love for serving the church in various capacities ranging from fellowship group advisor to New Life Class teacher for 18 years and Steering Committee member for 8 years. Chuck was ordained in 2006 as an Elder by OCM and presently assists the Pastoral Staff in ministering to church members. Chuck enjoys sailing, skiing and other outdoor activities, biblical studies, general reading, and going on short-term mission trips as well as spending time with his wife, Anna, children and grandchildren.
